Jeans for Genes Day
In September and October the Fairway Team in Sutton Coldfield decided to raise money for the charity Jeans for Genes.
In the weeks running up to Friday 4th October the team wore jeans every Friday and donated monies for the pleasure! The charity raises money for Genetic Disorders UK and aims to change the world for children with genetic disorders. Individually, genetic disorders are rare but together they affect 1 in 25 children born in the UK – that’s more than 30,000 babies each year. Their associated health problems mean that genetic disorders are the biggest cause of death of children aged 14 years and under.
The team managed to raise £50 during those few weeks and this will pay for a mother to attend a support day, giving her the help she needs to care for an extremely rare and profoundly disabling genetic condition.
