Fairway Homecare win The Homecare Registered Manager Award at The Great West Midlands Care Awards 2013

On Friday 1st November, the National Motorcycle Museum, Solihull provided a spectacular backdrop for the finals of the Great West Midlands Care Awards, where the nineteen category winners were announced.  Fairway Homecare were nominated for two awards being The Care Innovator Award and The Registered Manager Award.

The Great West Midlands Care Awards, supported by the Department of Health, are part of the Great British Care Awards, a series of regional awards which celebrates excellence in social care and pay tribute to those who work in the sector throughout England.  The awards are all inclusive, bringing together the statutory, independent and voluntary sectors, as well as unpaid carers; promoting joint working.

There were a total of nineteen award categories available for nomination, which represent all areas of the care sector, whether it be older people or specialist services and from frontline staff such as care workers and care managers to people who have made an impact in other ways such as training, specialist care in areas such as dementia and innovation.

Nominations came in from all corners of the sector and Fairway Homecare were invited for interview for in front of a panel of sector experts.  The gala award evening started in style with a champagne reception, followed by a superb gourmet dinner and the awards presentation with TV weather girl Emma Jesson and then dancing into the night.

 Fiona Trenchard-Davies, Marketing Director said,

“We were thrilled at being nominated in not only one category this year but two. It is fantastic to see all the team’s hard work pay off by being runner up and winner of these awards.  We have had a very busy 2013 and have many exciting projects in the pipeline for 2014.”

Fairway Homecare will be invited to attend the national finals for either the home care or care home sector that will take place in April and June 2014 at a prestigious venue in London.

Winner of the Registered Home Care Manager Award Gillian Simpson, Registered Manager said,

“I am absolutely thrilled to have won this prestigious award. It is wonderful to have my work and what we do at Fairway Homecare recognised by the industry. We take great pride in what we offer our service users and their families and it is our continuing drive to offer such quality service and be industry leading in this field.
