Fairway Finalists
We are delighted to announce that Fairway Training is a finalist in the prestigious Great British Care Awards for two
categories – ‘The Care Trainer Award’ and ‘The Care Innovator Award’ – see below. Well done to Lee who’s drive and passion for training is making a real difference to learner’s lives. Our flagship My Care Portfolio programme has also been recognised as providing an excellent and innovative platform, launching hundreds of careers in care.
The Care Trainer Award – Lee Lilleybond
This award will acknowledge the importance of the role of the Trainer within the care service and looks for a person who has shown incredible enthusiasm and determination in identifying training and development needs of care staff, establishing rolling training programmes, searching for and gaining funding and proving their ability to enthuse and energise staff to attend and request training.
The Care Innovator Award – ‘My Care Portfolio’ Pre-employment Programme
This award will recognise the person who has shown exceptional entrepreneurial skills in identifying, developing, implementing and establishing a new service; or a new administrative system; or the launch of a new product. This new innovation must demonstrate benefits for staff, the business and users of the service.

We have a wonderful group of trainers who deliver high quality training across the region and Lee has certainly left his stamp on the delivery of courses this year. I am equally delighted and honoured to have been nominated for the innovator award.
Our “My Care Portfolio” programme has changed lives, made a real difference and most importantly, created real jobs and career opportunities for many people who thought that careers in Care were not possible. We have a fantastic 98% achievement rate and 89% success rate in moving people in to genuine jobs – we are very proud.”
The awards will take place on Friday 30th November at the Edgbaston Stadium, we look forward to celebrating this special event and our achievement.
