Acorns Children’s Hospice dog walk
Fairway recently took part in the Acorns Hospice Charity Dog Walk! Fiona, Libby, Laura, Jackie and Ann took their dogs Mr Rigsby, Ronnie, Reggie, Jack, Brakan and Tyke for a 3km walk around Sutton Park to raise money for the hospice. So far Fairway have managed to raise an excellent £130 for Acorns and our Just Giving page will still be open for donations until July! www.justgiving.com/fairwayteam
Established in 1988, Acorns Children’s Hospice Trust is a registered charity offering a network of care for life limited and life threatened children and young people, and their families, across the heart of England. These children and young people are not expected to reach adulthood and require specialist care 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. In the last year Acorns has supported over 700 children and more than 1,050 families, including those who are bereaved. Acorns is the only organisation that provides this level of care to these vulnerable youngsters whilst offering a range of support services to the whole family to help them cope at every stage of their child’s life and beyond into bereavement.
They provide tailored nursing care for each child; short breaks, emergency and end of life care at each of the three hospices based in Selly Oak, Walsall and Worcester.
Acorns relies on the community to fund the majority of its activities, for more information go to www.acorns.org.uk
Next month we will be taking part in “Care 4 a Cuppa” fundraising for St Giles Hospice. The event will be taking part on Friday 30th May and we will be taking donations on our Just Giving page!
